Naruepol Fairtex is one of the most exciting Muay Thai fighters from Thailand’s famed Fairtex stable. Since joining Fairtex, Naruepol has gone from strength to strength and is currently regarded as the Number One contender for the vacant WBC Muaythai Welterweight title.
A Lumpinee and Thai Champion, 22-year-old Naruepol is one of the most popular fighters with his handsome boyish good looks that has enabled him to also work as a model, and he also aspires to become an action movie star.
Naruepol’s hobbies, which include soccer and pool, do not detract from his ambition to be the world’s best muay thai fighter. At 5’ 11” (1.80m), and weighing 147lbs (66.7kg), he is a lean, mean fighting machine. Naruepol Fairtex joins his team mate, Yodsanklai "The Hero" Fairtex, in this reality TV show, The Contender Asia, which follows 16 aspiring Muay Thai athletes from training camp through an evolving series of outdoor challenges and real sanctioned matches over 16 episodes.
For the first eight episodes, the winner of the fight-of-the-week will be rewarded with a guaranteed spot in the Quarter Finals. After four weeks of these Quarter Finals, two weeks of Semi-Finals will follow. The total prize pool is USD $250,000. In the show's last week, the final victor will claim the title of Contender Champion and the money prize.
Naruepol is another star in Fairtex's stable of fighters, In addition to his 110 -41 record he's a former Lumpini and Rajadomnern Stadium champion. Currently he's the no.1 contender to challenge Nopadetch Choowattana for the WBC title. Naruepol is considered tall for a Thai fighter and is very effective with his knees and elbows.
